As a Swede who lives in Stockholm and has traveled to and from the airport countless of times. I’m going to give you a complete guide on how find the best view that Stockholm can offer.
I love heights, I think it’s because I used to mount rooftop ventilation as my first job. So when I travel, the first thing I do in a new city is visiting the rooftop bars. Here is my favourite rooftop bars in order:
Freyja + Söder
Freyja + Söder is a newly built rooftop restaurant and bar located in Stockholm. Freyja is actually the name of the restaurant and Söder is the rooftop bar. It’s the perfect spot when the sun is out and offers panoramic views of the city. It’s located in Slussen, on top of Hornsgatan 18. There is no entrance fee.
Height: 8th floors
Location: Hornsgatan 18, 118 20 Stockholm
Entrance: No fee.
Reservation: Restaurant reservation.
Opening hours: 12:00 – 01:00
Sjöstaden Skybar
This rooftop is also newly built and located a bit south of the city centre. The view, from this rooftop is well worth the time it takes to go there(10 minutes from T-Centralen + 10 minutes of walk). There is a hidden gem in this rooftop and that’s the toilet with Olof Palme. There is no entrance fee.
Height: 102 meters
Location: Hammarby allé 12 B, 120 30 Stockholm

Himlen (The Sky)
Himlen translates to the sky, is indeed a magical place in the sky. It’s a bit smaller than the other rooftops but somehow there is always some space to have a cocktail infront of this magic view. If you are looking for a dining experience make sure to make a reservation in the restaurant. There is no entrance fee.

CAPITAL Scandic Continental
This is one of my personal “go to”-after work hangouts in the summer. Mainly because my office is located just a few minutes walk from here. The drinks are great and the view of the central Stockholm is beautiful. Just step into Scandic Continental and take the elevator to the 8th floor and turn right, 10 meters forward and right again, there you have it.
